Implementing and Operating Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies E-Learning (CPLL-ENCOR)

The Implementing and Operating Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies (ENCOR) Learning Path gives you the knowledge and skills needed to configure, troubleshoot, and manage enterprise wired and wireless networks. You’ll also learn how to implement security principles, automation, and programmability within an enterprise network, and overlay network design by using Cisco SD-Access and SD-WAN solutions.

This Learning Path prepares you for the 350-401 ENCOR v1.2 exam. If passed, you earn the Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Core certification and satisfy the core exam requirements for the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise Infrastructure certifications.

*Note:

This Learning Path contains Wireless content from the v1.1 exam. You may skip these sections, as this content has been moved to dedicated Wireless certifications and is not covered in the ENCOR v1.2 exam.

Skills You'll Learn

  • Configure and implement identified solutions by applying planned implementation processes using Cisco IOS Software commands and applications
  • Verify appropriate show and debug commands and applications to ensure correct solution implementation and performance
  • Troubleshoot appropriate show and debug commands and applications to identify the cause of basic-level network issues and correctly implement a solution that ensures that the network is performing as desired

Learning Path Objectives

  1. Network Switching: Explore concepts and technologies related to network design, Layer 2 switching, and first-hop redundancy. You will learn about VLANs, 802.1Q trunks, inter-VLAN routing, STP, EtherChannel, HSRP, VRRP, and QoS.
  2. Network Routing: Examine the EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols and how multicast protocols are deployed in networks to support real-time audio and video streaming. You will also learn to enable different types of network address translation.
  3. Network Security: Learn how to enable infrastructure security, secure access control, and different types of ACLs and control-plane policing. You will also explore AAA protocols and various security technologies, such as IPS, VPNs, firewalls, 802.1X, and TrustSec.
  4. Wireless Networking: Gain an understanding of concepts relating to wireless network deployment, such as architectures, client roaming and authentication options, AP discovery, failover, and high availability, and how to troubleshoot wireless client connectivity issues.
  5. Virtualization and Network Services: Discover how VRFs, GRE tunnels, and IPsec VPNs are used to isolate and protect network traffic. You will also learn about different types of network service protocols and network analysis tools, such as NTP, PTP, Syslog, SNMP, NetFlow, Cisco IP SLA, and SPAN.
  6. Programmability: Explore the latest trends in network programmability and automation using tools such as Python, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef. You will also learn about data formats, such as YAML, JSON, and XML. Additionally, you will compare two network management protocols: NETCONF and RESTCONF.
